Freak 09 December 2004 10:47 AM

Christ
Blast from the past
havent been into metal etc for years- but i was a big pantera fan at one point.....

Awesome guitar player- in fact all of them were fantastic musicians. Vinnie paul was a huge inspiration when i was a drummer

Iwan 09 December 2004 10:54 AM

Nooooo, that's sad. He was one of my favourite guitarists, never got to see him play live either. :(

Jap2Scrap 09 December 2004 10:57 AM

:(

So much sadder when it's actually a talented musician and not some hyped-up, self-professed-gangster, "i'm asking for it," rap star.

FrenchBoy 09 December 2004 11:54 AM

:eek2: :(

That's pretty fcuking outrageous!!!

A proper metal guitar hero!

drumsterphil 09 December 2004 12:51 PM

OMG!

Can't believe Dimebag's gone! Totally shocked!

If Vinnie is also dead the drumming community will be devastated - he was a true inspiration to me when I was learning to play!:(

Swede-STI 09 December 2004 01:18 PM

I read on a website that Vinnie is alive, I really hope that itīs true

US is a mentally disturbed country with their weapon laws. Open a bank account and get a shotgun free :-/ how sick is that...

I were and still is a Pantera fan and have seen them several times so the news are real shocking that this could happen.

R.I.P

Dimebag will be missed by many people

Gridlock Mikey 09 December 2004 04:38 PM

Ahh Booooooooooo! :(

Marky-San 09 December 2004 04:42 PM

This is just a timely reminder of a sad and dangerous world we live..... or should I say sad and dangerous people who live amongst us.

SJ_Skyline 09 December 2004 04:46 PM

I saw him play with Pantera at Newcastle city hall about 12 years ago. A damn good guitarist, probably better when he took the makeup off! :)

RIP :(

STi-Frenchie 10 December 2004 06:10 AM

just read the news - totally gutted. Such a great guitar player.
Damage plan was sounding cool. Was really looking forward to seeing them.
Was just like the old stuff.
