Passat intercooler pipe help -- keeps coming apart at the joint

Hi, I've a Passat PD130, the pipe from the top of the intercooler
to the inlet manifold keeps blowing apart at the joint with the intercooler.

It has done so twice in 10 miles.

The car is booked in to be looked at but is there anything I can do to secure it in the meantime?

Thanks, Craig

Assume it uses a jubilee clip? If not fit one over it and tighten the sucker above the knuckle..

Unfortunately it doesn't use a jubilee, it's some kind of daft sleeve arrangement held by a crappy spring clip!

A friend of mine has had this problem 3 times on his Mundano TDCi.

The last time he tightened the clip himself and it's been okay since then.

Spray a bit of hairspray onto the intercooler pipe before slipping the hose back on, this will pobably do the trick.
