Renault Clio Williams.

May have the opportunity of buying my mates Willy 1 for a stupidly low price due to him having bought a bugeye and the Clio sitting on the drive for over a year doing nowt.

Anybody know anything about these or better still, owned and run one?

Supposed to be a crackin little motor.

Thanx.

Skoosh.

fun, but need a tad more power + they eat wheel bearings

I prefered my Clio 16v to my Pug 1.9 GTi as an all round package so the Willy should be great fun :D

How stupidly low is the price mate??

Just curious thats all.... :)

They are great wee cars, a friend used to run one...... Responsive and handle really well IMO.

Cheers,
Grant

How much do these go for lads? If it was cheap enough - it might be wise to buy it and use it for a run around/weekend car. I've heard they are hot hatch legends. :D

Owned a Willy 1 for 2 1/2 years (from 96 to 99). was a great car (though of course it was young then !). No major problems, other than a few dodgy fuses & the Catalyst breaking, which Renault refused to cover !. Got loads of poistive comments at the time, including 2 occasions when I was stopped by a Cop patrol car, who just wanted to look inside !. Insurance is quite heavy though. Engines are tough providing they are properly serviced. It was the lowest depreciating car I have ever owned too.

Go for it for if the price is right

150bhp from 2.0l and an all-up weight at barely a tonne ... fantastic - I'd have one in a shot if I had the cash ...
