Dash Kit or Spray paint interior?

Hi

A while back a air freshner took the colour out of the dash on MY03 wrx. Just wondered if these stick on dash kits are any good or shall I go for spraying it myself. Looking for aluminium colour and not carbon fibre. Anyone fitted one?

Cheers

Rich

No one fitted one of these stick on babies?

not seen the stick on jobbies but ive seen parts of the dash sprayed silver and it looks really well (it was also on a silver car)

the stick on stuff might look tacky IMHO

You can geet the foila tec stuff but it costs a fortune, best thing to use is primer, colour then lacquer from halfords, just remember the basics, clean it,paint it somewhere with no dust using light coats leaving time to dry between coats.

Spot on bigscottyboy, I sprayed bits of my trim in my white classic using that technique and I'm pretty chuffed with the result, not seen many of these press-on trim kits about but IMHO spraying would look better! I'll post some pics if I get chance!

would love to see silver sprayed trim in a 1995 wrx if anyone has any pics. I want to do it but not sure if it will look ok.

Best stuff to use may be vinyl dye paint....available from you local Halfords, as an aerosol.
Just rub the trim lightly with wet and dry, then use this stuff to 'dye' the plastic to your required colour.

I have the stick on kit which was initially on when I bought the car. Tried to remove it and it ended up looking a mess so I replaced like for the like in the end with a view of spraying the dash in the future............that was three years ago.

It doesn't look bad but then again on £ a £20k+ car it doesn't look that great either. I'd steer clear of it IMHO.

I got the brushed aluminum on MY98. Looks quite good (i think so anyway) didn't use all of teh supplied parts as it's a bit overkill. But easy to put on and hasn't come off yet!
