Swapping mortgages help

Hello

My current deal is coming to an end, and I'm not sure it's actually worth to remortgage so any advice would be helpful:

I am with Yorkshire Building Society, had a deal at (BOE - 0.15%) for two years which expires in January and they are offering me (BOE + 0.15%) + £295 arrangement fee.

If I move to another company, am I not paying off much more interest as it's front loaded and also paying the arrangement and possibly valuation fee? Is the above a good deal?

Thanks.

Steve.

no...only downside to a switch is fresh fees to set it up (although many deals now cover these costs) any mortgage adviser with 2 brain cells (some have 3) can tell you if its worth switching...and it normaly is.

Try www.moneysupermarket.com and go to the mortgage section

also the Coventry BS have 'apparently' got some good deals at the moment

Tell them you'd like the deal but are not prepared to pay the arrangement fee. Tell them you'll walk if they don't agree to waiving it.

I'm with the Coventry and got mine fixed last year for 5 years at 4.45%. £295 seems a little steep, and any mortgage adviser worth his salt should be able to get you a better deal, or try the link posted above.

Just re-done mine with Northern Rock this month.........80,000 over 23 years. They gave me a 2 year fixed rate @ 4.69%
