Judges Escape Pensions Tax!

Bl00dy cheek!

I never thought I would see a Labour government giving leeway to the very rich!

Disgraceful!! Its what the Tories do all the time - but Labour???? :(

You jealous, old fella?

GC8 27 November 2004 10:20 PM

Judges will always be particularly well paid and provided for, irrespective of the government of the days political persuasion. The reasoning being, that a well paid judge will not see corruption as an appealing alternative.....

ajm 27 November 2004 10:22 PM

Looks like the rose tint on your glasses might be wearing off at last Pete! Welcome to lucidity! :D

But escaping tax on their pensions would be an apealing alternative?? As they were threatening stike action if they didnt get their own way!!

And, no, I am not jealous - I cannot spend what I have anyway - :D

Make no mistake, Labour are THE BEST we have available - whatever happens, and they WILL stay in power for a decade more (so, we had better get used to it!)

Pete

I actually agree with you, Peter.

Even HM has to pay tax so why shouldn't judges?

The threat of a strike has lowered their standing to me. These poeple are the last bastion of good faith we have in our nation, and are supposed to be the fathers/mothers of our law.

No. TB is a lawyer as are many MPs of all parties. Lawyers have probably the best set of restrictive practices and old boys network in the land (trade union in other words). Boy do they look after their own!

Back up! Im not condoning it! Im just making you aware of the official line.....

Cherie *is* Tony's pension... if there is any sanity left in this country she will be the only bread winner in the Blair household come next year! ;)

what, she suported Churchil?

Leslie 28 November 2004 10:19 AM

What makes you think NL is a Labour government. Old Labour which was at least a decent thinking bunch if incompetent, allowed themselves to be well and truly conned by this lot. And the deputy PM sold his soul to the devil!

greatest leader of our time
Bliar?

You really have lost the plot, haven't you? On second thoughts, 'lost' infers you had 'it' in the first place, which is highly questionable.

pslewis 28 November 2004 12:28 PM

The history books will show Blair as the greatest leader since time began.

I see that Labour are 11 points ahead of the Tories!! Ha Ha Ha Ha!!

MOST people are loving it ........... we are richer and safer than ever ..... long live Labour!

Pete

Very doubtful.

We're looking into a financial black hole of £10Bn which Brown's created. He's going to have to tax his way out of that and Bliar's misguided actions in supporting Bush over the imaginary WMD have made the UK a far more dangerous place than it ever was before.

Go and and empty your bag, Pete - it's full of sh1t.

Well Pete, I'm not once to bring up PR, but less than half of the population voted for Labour old boy and so that doesnt make a majority of nuffink!
