Try here. This purports to be the wiring for a euro car but I havn't checked it's the same as mine.

The only thing not shown on the wiring bit is the two connections that make the switch glow dimly when the normal lights are on. The pin wiring shows it though, pins 2 and 4.

You do need a relay with the UK switch because it's non-latching, you press the switch and, provided the normal lights are on, it triggers a relay which turns the rear fog on. When you release the switch it turns off but the relay is wired to hold itself on. You can turn the rear fogs off by pressing the switch again, turning the lights off or turning the normal headlights off.

Having studied the diagram above I don't think it's for a latching system, this seems to be a double throw fog light switch, press once for on, press again for off. Perhaps this diagram is for a classic and they had this two push system while the '01 on cars have latching type? Oh well may help a bit.

Cant comment on the wireing city, but it may help you to know that from personal exp, a jap cluster and a uk cluster together on the rear = mot failure. Yeah i was well pi553d about that, a little harsh to say the least. So i nicked the olds cluster from his imp wrx while he was in work, and went for the retest. Problem solved :p
