Any Forester owners?
Hi
Any out there as just got a XT :) Is there anythink you can do with the suspension Great on the straights but horrid on the corners Wondering if anyone on here has a Forester or all you base ball capped impreza owners ;) Rob |
Neil will be along shortly....the solution revolves around fitting the STI's rear antiroll bar I believe. Plus bigger wheels with smaller sidewall tyres.

1. Bin the geolandars
2. Fit 17"'s and 225/45 or 215/50 rubber 3. 20mm ARB & Sti mounts. Sorted. Steve www.subaruforester.com |
I had a quickie test drive in a forester 2.5 xt a few weeks ago ( 24 hour drive is on 6/12) I though the handling was spot on but then again I wasn't pushing it and I'm more used to my mondeo estate or diesel vectras

Whiteline in Australia has upgrades available. Read here:

I'd echo Steves point about the Geolanders.
They are S & M tyres and so may be only useful for a couple of days a year. The rest of the time I thought they were dreadful. Nick |
ERR... that should read M & S tyre ... I have something on my mind.....

EVO did a brief test on the XT a couple of months ago and didn't rate the handling too badly at all. However, they did acknowledge that you had to modify your driving style to make reasonable progress.
Still their favourite SUV by a mile. I'll be taking a closer look in the new year. Cheers Kav |
the std rear bar is only approx 8-10mm..................just sorted the wifes out by fitting sti bars F & R and also fitting solid rear d/links, bushes, etc...............
much more stable but will never be as good as an impreza due to the "spacer blocks" - got another set of wheels on the way and then will look into the ride height furter alyn - asperformance.com |
By which time you will have made it into a pretty good chase car Alyn!;)

hello from Greece
I own a Forester XT 2.5 since early November. I try to find some goods to reduce the bodyroll. I will go propably for an adjustable rear swaybar from Whiteline. Together with endlinks. Maybe also a front swaybar will follow. I have read in www.subaruforester.com, many people have changed the rear swaybar with an STI one , but you certainly need to change also the end links. Also get rid these Geolanders. Go eiteher in 225/55/16 or try 17s |
