WYIOC Xmas Dooooooooooooooooo

With Christmas just around the corner, let's sort out our plans for rounding up a fun-filled and eventful year. Either instead of, or as well as our December meet, it has been suggested that we have a bit of a p!ss up, without cars  with partners :( and involving drinking :luxhello: dancing and eating. The only suggestion we currently have is.....

3. Wakefield is good as a location. Central to all.. Oh, and I can walk/stagger/crawl (in that order)!
4. Beers over several venues, a sit down curry and a club for those wishing too is a plan I can live with!

As for dates, if we are to do a thursday then the 18th seems favourable, as the 23rd may be a little too close to the chaos that is Xmas, but please discuss. We have the karting with the WR1 guys on sat 16th, so we could make a weekend of it and do the friday 17th (busy town centre), or sunday 19th (quiet town centre)

Open to the floor :D

Definitely needs to be a car-free event, Dave. Anything else would be irresponsible. Or was it boring.... I forget which....

Thursday is the 16th mate, but my view is that, if babysitters etc can be organised, we are better going for the weekend slot.

Friday 17th would be good, but will there be 'legacy' issues (no pun intended) in terms of hangovers for the 18th karting challenge?

Sunday 19th sounds OK too, but it depends how many want a thick head for the Monday morning? Doesn't affect you Dave, 'cos you don't have a proper job anyway...:D Incidentally, how would you manage for the weekend stuff? Are you not working that weekend mate?

Town centre would give us more options for getting pi$$ed and so on, as well as the chance to cram in a curry or whatever....:p

Any suggestions on the;

  2. Eating place for some food and in-meal drinks?
  3. Post meal drinking place?
  4. Dancing place that can supply some drinks?

I'm easy....

I mean, not difficult....

Or rather, open to offers....

Or was it 'available'....?

Anyway, what I meant to say was 'any eve will suit me fine' (in my very hectic social schedule). :D

At £7 a pint, there's no way they'd keep it outside mate.... Out there, the price of beer is the only reason they bother to lock their houses....

corradoboy 05 December 2004 04:04 PM

Don't mention that too much on an open BBS, it might give bLIAR ideas ;):D
