So the wheels are balanced - why the wobble
 

Hi guys,

New tyres - so wheels all balanced. I noticed that at "high speeds" ;) there is a slight shaking of the steering wheel as there would be with unbalanced wheels. The tyre pressures were spot on.

Anything else im not thinking of that could cause a juddering?

Debris on your hubs?
Warped discs?

From past experience with previous cars when I've had new tyres fitted I've found.

1. Not all tyre bay balancing machines are accurate.
2. Not all fitters know how to use them properly (albeit a a small minority).
3. Once new tyres have bedded in after a few hundred miles the tyres are already out of balance and really need balancing again - they should then be OK for a good few thousand miles.
4. If the tyre is not seated on the rim properly it will be difficult to balance.
5. Some new tyres can still be faulty.

Toally agree with Scoobydog.
Drive for some more 100's of miles and have a big tyre depot balance them. New tyres can be 'eccentric', can be in dynamic balance but are not running true, gives horrendous 'wobble'.
