E-mailing large files, how?
I want to send a Windows media player video that is 41mb to someone. AOL will only allow 16mb file attachments. Is there any way of Zipping or compressing the file, so that AOL will accept it? Am running XP if that helps.

Programs such as WinRAR will let you compress the file and split it into smaller chunks.
However, sending something that big through email is a really bad idea as the size of the file increases by roughly 30% due to the special encoding needed to get binary data through a system that was originally intended purely for text. Use some other method such as FTP or an Instant Messaging program with filetransfer capabilities instead! |

Thanks all, but the video I was sending, I don't want hosted elsewhere as it's personal!!!! I'll put it on disc and hand it over personally I think.

You could install an FTP server on your machine and give him access.
WarFTPd is pretty good and free. |
