Fantasy Time. Ideal job,career,profession.

As title but, depending on your age, what would be or would have been your ideal job, career or profession.
Probably lots of F1/WRC drivers?

Ok I'll start. Me,past tense now,but I'd like to have been one of those rockstars still getting away with it after 20 or 30 years having survived all the "fun" on the way. They seem to have permission to never truly grow up!

Nothing like an up close and personal with a rampant fungal infection! :D ;)

If its sessions then of course sight reading is a neccessity, if its a gigging situation you have to surround yourself with extremely talented people, no weak links and go for it in a dedicated way. We are not talking stardom but I managed to earn my living from music for 25 years.

I could have tried harder, no doubt, but I also wanted to buy a house etc. and earning a pittance wasn't going to pay my mortgage ... so I decided to turn my attentions elsewhere with a view to 'picking up where I left off' once I was comfortable.

I will be arranging a big gig next year, which i will tell you a bit more about when I see you.

never lose sight of your dreams, look forward to the chat m8.

I have always fancied being a zoologist of some description, probably in a branch of aquatic biology which would fulfill my love of boating and the water with science and nature thrown in.

When people say "wouldn't it be great if you could get a job doing your hobby" I always have this fear of the "job" aspect ruining the "hobby" aspect though.

There are loads of people it works well for, but for me I think I am better off slogging it out in IT in the office for 5 days a week so I know I can enjoy the 2 remaining days doing what I love! Maybe I'm just not brave enough although I really respect those who can make it work.

Also, I'm one of those people who goes all out in a hobby anyway, so if I choose to do something in my own time I must know EVERYTHING there is to know about it, no half measures so in respect of standards I doubt I'd gain all that much from going "pro". :D
