Fuel Cat

Any of you had any experiance with these.
They fit onto the fuel line and increase the Octane from 95 to 99 and last for
100,000 miles !

Sounds to good to be true at £60.00

Hi mate

There was a thread a little while ago regarding the Fuel Cat, my opinion is that unless a truely independant body tests the fuel cat and can substantiate their claims, I wouldn't even bother considering buying one. I have explained in more detail about them in the said thread.

But dont Prodrive use them??

Yes, of course these work! Just like putting magnets around the fuel line, or perhaps any other of the marvals of modern science. No it would be a complete waste of money. If they were that good, they'd be fitted as standard, yes?

I think you'll find that the product - Broquet - on which these are based was fitted by Prodrive to P1s (IIRC).

I believe that these are effectively an additive - they cannot (my understanding) increase the octane rating of the fuel. Maybe they add something such as a lead replacement???? Why Prodrive fitted one I do not know, but if it was a case of 'power for nothin' then I'm sure that Ford, VW, Honda etc would fit them at the factory..... and I'd fit 2 or 3!!!!!!!
