Best way to undo difficult rear-diff drain and fill plugs?

As per title, tried to undo both of these a number of times, no chance.
Had another go yesterday whilst fitting Whiteline droplinks and adj roll-bar :)

Any bits of advice most welcome.
cheers

As above mine also seem stuck fast , have access to a windy gun so will try that next have tried a 3ft breaker bar so far . Any ideas ?

Use a long bar, then lower off the jack with the bar placed so as the cars weight cracks the plugs, then lift up again and it will move.

without ramps or a pit you are going to struggle. I've got a pit and used a 3' breaker bar and car was lifting before i got plug loose. If you can get it to a friendly garage and ask them to undo it for you.

Bob's advise does work. Try that first before resorting to spending money on garages.

1/2" drive and a hammer works! They are both tapered thread so tend to lock themselves up pretty tight especially if they've been tightened up by the same gorilla who is under contract to go round to garages doing-up the oil filters!

Cheers, I'll try the lowering car method at the weekend.
Let you know how I get on.

Did mine with breaker bar and old motorcycle fork tube to extend breaker bar. I then use 11/2 turns of gas spec PTFE tape on plugs to seal. Now they undo more easily, perhaps tape helps.
