How much should I expect to get from a dealer for this?

classic 2000W Impreza Turbo.
Unmodified
Silver
Aircon
44000 miles
2 owners
Full Subaru Dealer SH
Warranty extended until June 2005
Taxed and MOT'd until July 2005
Generally pretty good condition but needs some paintwork (keyed plus a couple of bubbles on the leading edge of the roof).

I'm considering selling it because I just worked out that it's only done about 500 miles in the last 6 months. It just sits outside my front gate 6 days out of 7. The dealer thing is because most of the time I'm working away from home and so selling it privately would be impossible to organise.

you should be looking at selling it to a dealer for around £8000.

why not just call a few local dealers?

Well funnily enough I've already spoken to the nearest dealer but the guy I spoke to had to discuss it with his boss and was going to get back to me. I'm still waiting... but I had no idea what the going rate for a 2000 classic was anyway, so how would I know if they're taking the p*ss?

I know they've got to make a profit, but a friend recently part-exed a Seat Leon - they gave him 6K then 2 days later the car turned up on their website at 9495...

Friend of mine is a car dealer and has a 2000W in blue on one of his forecourts. It's up at £7995 with low milage but I think he mentioned it was on the damaged list (stolen recovered/locks I think) which is why it's cheap. Probably only gave about 6.5k for it at a guess. You'll never get a good price off a dealer unless your trading in against something else unfortunately.
