92 WRX & BLEAD VALVE

CAN YOU PUT A BLEAD VALVE ON TO A JAP IMPORT 92 WRX. AND WILL IT CAUSE ANY MAJOR PROBLEMS?

There's nothing inherently wrong with a bleed valve as long as

a) you don't go silly with the boost
b) you monitor your fuelling to see that it is kept to safe levels (you are flowing more air so you need to make sure that your 12 year old fuel pump is up to the job of supplying enough fuel and that your injectors are clean enough to make sure it is delivered properly) and that you also monitor for det - particularly with it being an import.

I personally would not raise the boost on any import unless you run octane booster all the time and fit a knocklink and boost gauge or you get it remapped for UK fuel.

Your ECU will put a stop to your fun at 1.0 bar anyway by bringing in the fuel cut, so the amount you can raise the boost by is limited.

Bleed valves are a very crude form of boost control. Your peak boost level will vary quite a bit and they aren't particularly safe. Having one can be a bit of a gamble but for the money, they are an incredibly cheap mod. I ran one years ago on a UK car at 15psi without any problems.
