Anyone had their P1 on the dyno yet ?

Got mine booked in at PS on the 19th http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Jonathan Rigby has, results are on Paul Strongs Dyno site under Power Engineering section.

If you are going to Powerstation with your P1 you may want to search the archives (here and BBS.22b.com) as the same car was at PS and had considerably lower power and lower torque than the results from PE.

It would be interesting to see your results as Jonathan was using mixed fuel and his boost was falling off.

Can only find the results for the Powerengineering run on the Dyno site ??

Thanks

Was'nt it 262 hp and 235lbs of torque at Powerstation - Jonathon..... will confirm this

Jonathan 08 August 2000 10:12 AM

Steve is right with the figures. Both are lower than at PE. There is about a 5% diference in readings between rollers. My P1 was 7bhp and approx 30lb ft short of the figures of two STI V's with full exhausts, remaps, filter systems and in one case new turbo. So very pleasing

Not seen figures for a std STI V/VI on their yet, so hard to draw a comparision. Maybe someone with an std STI could join you on the day.

Mines been run on Super since and has another 2000 miles on it. Feels a lot quicker as its losening up. Might have to pay another visit.

I've run on 97ron since new, and will have covered about 3500 miles by dyno day, so I'll let you know the results as soon as I'm back.I've also got the Prodrive back box which certainly felt like there was an increase in torque too.

....Ok, now call me stupid...or anything that springs to mind...but I still don't fully understand the "rolling road" thingy.

Please could someone explain exactly what it entales, where it can be done, how much it costs etc etc...

Cheers...

Rum, powerengineering have a nice little explaination on their website :

steve McCulloch 08 August 2000 06:33 PM

The Link results on the sti's/wrx's should be improving as the ignition can be advanced a bit to improve the power!

I guess that Jonathan's car will not be that disimilar to an untuned sti5/6? - but I've nver noted an untuned one - apart from mine at Well Lane - but it showed 299 hp and 287lbs of torque, which is a little 'over optimistic'! - makes you feel good though - but not when you get the car modded take it to Powerstation and the results are lower

Its like being back at school - poor results make you throw more effort (= money) at your project!

russell hayward 08 August 2000 08:30 PM

Yeah quite right Steve. It's only a comparison but it will be nice to know everything is working OK now I,ve had the car a while.

I may change the stock down pipe. Anyone know of any warranty problems with this ??

Thanks

Russell

I`m paying a visit to PS next Tuesday to get my understeer sorted and to put it on the rollers, i`ll let you know how I get on.(P1).

russell hayward 08 August 2000 09:52 PM

Arron

Are you getting the bump steer etc done ?

Very interested to see the results as I am considering getting the bushes done too.

Yes bump steer etc

Rum* 08 August 2000 11:56 PM

Cheers Chuckster...makes abit more sense now....

steve McCulloch 09 August 2000 11:40 AM

Mines had bump steer too at PS - vgood

Dont know about warranty and down pipe though?

I dont think you'll notice that much difference. If I could go back in time now i'd probably have left the sti unmodded - cos the mods have almost certainly reduced the resale value!
