I saw it played this afternoon. Madonna introduced it, looking really sincere reading off an autocue. Wasn't as bad this time, the guitar stuff near the end is pretty good but the opening voices are weak - don't know why they chose the Sugarbabes to sing so many lines, their voices are ****e.

Got to agree with this. Heard it on the radio and thought it was ****e, saw this video on BBC1 at 5.55 and thought it sounded much better. Yes the voices are weak, some of that comes from so many people trying to sing in the same key (it won't be their natural key for many - think of Justin Hawkins usual singing voice, forced rock or falsetto, there's no inbetween). The rap is still risible but the guitar work does sound a lot better.

two many equal voices singing tgether which cancelled themselves out...

maddonna really promoted it well via crap autocue!!

bono the star with the ego problem......

how come it was his line??? bllx

it had no roughness that the first did...

it was too orchestrated, and who was the little fat umpa lumpa lookalike??

i wont be buying it!!

I think that is the porker out of Keane, but I'm probably wrong!

Check out Justins watch...

I was expecting some hippy type bangle, or piece of coloured shoe lace, but NO......

One of these..

Nice choice, I am very surprised he has gone up in my estimation.

And I like the song, will give it an OK for now, but it may grow on me.

Didnt like The rapping bit, that wont grow on me.

Terrible,

Like others have said, to man of the same kind of voices.
People given the wrong parts.
Madonna should be disgusted at here part of introducing it... she was shocking.

I know its a really really good cause, but more effort was needed. Gelodoff has just had it throwen together in a pop idol kinda fashon knowing that its going to be easy money.

I think they should have got the original cast (those that are still alive)

yoza 18 November 2004 08:59 PM

Thats was an excellent idea, the originals..those who could make it.

Now that would have made me feel old.

mart360 18 November 2004 09:25 PM

didnt notice the watch..

was it a 99p petrol special...

M

yoza 18 November 2004 09:29 PM

No it was a £3725 special, with a 12-18 month waiting list.

Or you could go on E-bay to a reputable dealer and pay £5750-6000 for one.

You gotta ask yourself the rationale of a man who'd appear on a single begging us 'ordinary' folk to part with our hard-earned for people in a land far-far away whilst wearing a watch that'd feed ten families for a year.

GIVE 'EM SOME MONEY YOURSELF HAWKINS YA TIGHT B*STARD.

Oh, and I like The Darkness - Saw 'em at Leeds and they were musically excellent.
