Changing fuel filter - just pull off the cover and replace yes?
As heading really. Will it be under pressure?
Thanks |
Will be under pressure yeah. So watch your mince pies!

Not too sure what you mean by cover. Mine's a MY99 and it's on the offside strut mount. Requires two pipes (inlet & outlet) to be undone take out and replace. It's about a year since I did the job last but don't remember getting showered with petrol (car definitely still in one piece)

Just wanted to check is all. Had a nightmare changing filter on my old GTIR. The hose had perished a bit and squirted fuel all over the engine. Quite surprised how hot fuel gets without igniting  fumes sting like heck though.

Leave a few hours then pressure has dropped. Have something ready to plug hoses while you fiddle a dumpy crosshead 'driver often fits.

What cover?
You're not talking about the cover for the fuel pump? The fuel filter is a single black canister in the engine bay. You don't open it to get a filter element out, the whole thing is replaced. Nick |
less than 5 mins to change..leave overnight before starting and you`ll be fine.
the petrol only leaked a few drops... The easiest job to do on an Impreza. |
Changed mine the other day & have 2 more rich lights now on the Afr :D so worthwhile job me thinks
