Clutch Judder or Engine Mounts?

For the last few weeks every time I start from stationary, the car shakes, and over time it has got worse.

I was thinking could this be caused by engine mounts?

If I do not rev the car over 1000rpm, and let got of the clutch steadily the car does not judder…

Any thoughts?

Clutch judder likely - you will need to change clutch ( plate, cover, probably bearing - how much mileage have they done / what sort of use ( cruising on motorway or stop/start in town? )) AND flywheel, as it will be warped / have high spots / cracks... due to age and use.

Otherwise, get a pair of STi engine mounts ( harder rubber, much stronger mountings, excellent ! ) as a cheaper / easier to do fix first... cost me 1 hour and about £40 each IIRC from Xtreme Scoobies.
Maybe the pitch stabiliser bar is worn too ... £45 for one of those ( engine to bulkhead ).

Then try gearbox mounts, STi ones of course, I think £55 for the one.

Let us know...

The previous owner had the clutch changed, i think this clutch has now covered 15,000 miles.

My car only has just over 60K on the clock...
