Stolen (by armed force) R32 Midlands

All,

Hope you don't mind me putting this up, but someone (Gabster) from Tyresmoke has had his R32 removed by armed robbers on Sunday afternoon.

Details :

Blue R32 Reg DV 03 OMW, black leather Konigs, 6CD in dash usual R32 spec, stolen from Olton, Solihull at 6.10PM on Sunday 14 November 2004. Any news speak to your local police.

The thread on tyresmoke is http://www.tyresmoke.net/ubbthreads/...rt/1/vc/1/nt/2

Synopsis of his story

I heard knock on my door, I was watching the Man Utd game and working on my laptop in on the Lounge dining table. I ignored the first knock but when the door knocked again I went to the front door and opened the door. Just as I turned the key in the door the figure who was standing about eight feet back from the door rushed the door and knocked me over at the moment three other males rushed into my hall shouting "We have got a gun, where are your car keys"

I was bundled to the floor by the four males and they picked me up and bundled me into the lounge still shouting "Where are your car keys, we have a gun" I was pushed onto the settee and a pillow was put over my face and was told not to look. They also at this point took the car keys, my wallet with my credit cards and 20 in cash and driving license. They also took my HP PDA, Motorola V3 and also my Samsung Mobile. Amazingly they never took my Omega Speedmaster that was next to my wallet and phone. The cheeky gits also took my laptop and the last guy out even came back to ask were the power adaptor was for the laptop. They made two errors though which have left vital DNA on the scene which I wont go into and the police reckon if they have previous they will get them. They also left a stolen escort running outside my house with more DNA on it.

The police were there withn fifteen minutes and stayed for three hours and CID and SOC were also on site within half an hour. My parents were also round within half an hour and six mates were round and my family and mats have been ace.

Today I still feel shook up, stayed at my parents last night and now just want to scrub my house from top to bottom as it feels dirty. I have lost my pride and joy but part of me cant care about that, it is insured with Gap insurance. At present I am more pissed that my phone with all my numbers has gone and also my laptop has gone with all my work on there and e-mails.

The R32 is greatly admired by the wrong people and at the moment I dont think I want that car back or an R32 again. With my gap insurance I think I will get about four thousand back cash after I have paid off my finance. If you have an R32 be careful, mine was locked and is always parked behind gates at night, but the half an hour I left it on my drive before I put it away was enough for them to take it. Having a gun next to your temple has put my love of fast cars into perspective. Is it worth it seeing my mom, brother and best mate crying last night when they thought I could be shot is a sobering vision.

Nasty you'll agree, these people are dangerous, don't approach them.
Please call local police or PM me and I'll pass it on (or go via Tyresmoke)

Cheers

Simon (on Gabster's behalf)

Mods - Hope this is OK, please move it if it is in the wrong place.

Nasty indeed. When I read the title I first thought "why would the armed forces steal an R32?!!" To be honest I don't think many people would approach these robbers, it's more likely that they'll approach you (at speed). :D

Hope Gabster recovers well from this physical and psychological nightmare. And I really bloody well hope the police catch them.

Fancy going back and asking for the laptop's powerpack - these people have more balls than FIFA.

This is far too common these days because security has become too good for them to take the car without you knowing now :(

It's stories like these that stop me owning a decent car these days and the only reason that I won't buy an impreza because it's just not worth the worry :(

Not good:(

And Lying Labour have introduced WHAT legislation to combat this sort of thing?

Oh yes. shorter sentences if you plead guilty.

I hope your local Police force is better than Merseysides as in June this year 5 guys kicked my front door in at 4 am to try to get the keys to my brand new SAAB 9-3ss Aero brandishing a gun (Glock 9mm) dont ask how i know, i just do.

But anyway after the 1st one through the door met with my bat in the face the other pussys picked him up and ran off to a waiting Mitsubishi Warrior 4x4.

I had lots of claret DNA on the floor and bat and finger prints on my car and front door and i heard once from the Police to say they where still looking, now we are in November and i have never heard anything back at all.

I wouldnt hold your breath waiting to hear back from the boys in blue as the response i got was '' If you where actually shot we could assign more resource to finding them '' but as they didnt fire it at me tuff sh#t and they will only get caught when some other poor sod is shot.

They work on the basis of ''Scare tactics'' and a 2 minute window from start to finnish, if they havent found the keys within this time they are off and on to the next car to hit. (They will always have a back up car to go for).

If you are prepared to have a go back, 9 times out of 10 they will panic and back off, dont get me wrong i didnt even think about what i did only afterwards when i had sat down and thought about it did i realise i was fighting over a car, my car yes but they had a gun and my wife and kids where upstairs, not the brightest thing i've done but it did 'FEEL' great tw#tting the scumbag in the face with a bat.

Zippy

I think you'll find that armed robbery has actually been illegal for quite some time ...

So it was, but making sentencing lighter is really going to deter people.
