Mobile phone upgrade whens best??
 

I,m currently with Orange, and my contract is up in about 3 weeks time.

whens best to start going for an upgrade?? do i phone them, or wait for them to phone me?? (do they?)

or do i just go elsewhere and get another one?? I,ve seen the one i want, but i dont know whether they will play ball??

I would prefer to stay with orange, but i know there not the best when it comes to upgrades??

any ideas??

they'll never phone you because the dont want to remind you that you will soon be out of contract and free to move, perhaps request your PAC number so you could move to another network and they will pass you to a retention team who may well make you a good offer to stay, certainly look at the best deals available and get them to at least match them.

do i request the pac now, or after the 12 months is up??

i dont really want to change provider, as i have a load of free minutes built up

i,m hoping they will do the new phone i want as a freebe

i know when i did it last year at 9months, i just had to pay the price of the phone.. butthis time the phone should be free on the tarrif i want

Orange phone me every year :)

Go somehwere else; Orange suck, I was with them for nearly 6 years; upgraded to a motorola MPX200 with them (paid £149.00 when they first came out) and when the software messed up they would not repair or replace the phone even though I had Orange care.
Didnt pay the bill as I couldn't make any calls; even told them to take me to court.

Have not heard anything from them since and i'm now on Three with 750 minutes, 150 texts and unlimited downloads with a brand new Motorola A1000 for less than I used to pay on Orange for 250 minutes and 50 texts! and Three's customer service is excellent.
