Chav tail lamps

As above im fitting some chav style lexus lights to me car tonight. Are there any precautions i need to take before fitting them. I realise im going to need mastic to seal them but is there anyting else i should/shouldnt do.
Obviously im going to get some sarcastic remarks but if i could get one good answer thet would be great.
Cheers. (flame suit zipped up) :ponder2:

probably just a hair dryer to make removing the old cluster easier.

Smear some clear silicone on the joints - my old Hella Golf lights leaked when the hose was on them

Ta bud, done that. Lights are on looking good but theres a problem - the brake light on my spoiler stays on all the time, what have i done wrong??? Please help!!!

your first mistake was in fitting chav lights. After that I would guess you connected the brake light to the wrong rear wire on the brake light clusters. ;)

Not sure if they are relay operated, if so, sounds like you connected to the wrong side of the relay. if not, no idea.
btw, better off sealing with Seaker flex than mastic on those lights.

IMO, the best stuff for sealing round lights etc, is the non-setting sealant, such as used on caravans. Available form caravan dealers, and perhaps from auto paint specialists. Stays flexible and sticky for EVER.

Ive sorted it, i sealed them with mastic last night. Id put the bulbs in the wrong place doh! fixed now though. Will get a pic up tomorrow.
Cheers.

Hi Mate

Im joing the club in fitting the Lexus Lights.

Can you tell me now you have managed to fit yours. Im having a nightmare getting the old clusters off. they seem to not want to shift from the corner end. I have removed the 5 nuts is there anything else i need to do. Cheers.

The only real precaution you need is to be wearing a Burberry cap whilst fitting them !! :norty:

All done now it was the Burberry Cap that made all the difference.

Oh and the hair dryer.:p
