Alarm Chirps When Starting Car
 

As the title says, the alarm on my my02 wrx sometimes chips once when i start the car. Any suggestions what could be wrong?

Yes, your battery is on its way out or needs a full charge.

If the battery is knacked will it be covered under the warrenty? I'm guessing probably not.

Batteries seem to fail in new-age Scoobs almost constantly. They should replace, they did mine.

Battery is getting replaced on Tues free of charge under the warrenty.

Mine's (MY00) been doing this for 12 months now... I got the battery checked and it was apparently OK, so I left it.

(you just know I'm gonna brake down somewhere tonight now, don't you...)

Battery replaced today under warrenty, car seems to start quicker and (it may be in my head) but seems to run better too. No more annoying alarm chirping and beeping too.

Nice one. I'm getting my oil changed shortly, and a check to make sure everything's OK for the winter, so I'll probably get a new battery then, to save any future buttock clenching when starting her up over the next few cold months...
