Good if you live on a farm or want to go ram raiding. ;)

The Gravel Express was a JDM fill-in model which was discontinued when the Legacy-based Outback came out. It has a standard 220PS TD04'd 'Wagon engine with a front mounted bull bar, sill guards and the spare wheel mounted externally. The suspension is slightly higher and it doesnt handle as well as a standard model, but that wasnt really what it was about. They are usually two-tone with either solid red or blue over silver.

Seen one of these in Wantage - bit odd looking really (no offence to trekkker) - built for the Australian market?

GC8 01 November 2004 03:00 PM

It was a JDM car and it was discontinued when either the Legacy Outback or the Forester came out.

51,000 miles,
very good condition,
i paid 4000
absoloute bargain as with a few modifacations it would be a normal wagon,

That's class. So different looking to the norm

I'm pretty certain your front wiper arms are on the wrong way round

I saw this one on either eBay or FB market place. I'm based in York so not far away from where it was. I believe I have your sump guard / gravel express bumper guard though haha

the black one looks well Josh, where did you find that?
any idea how many of these are in the UK?

JoshwrxGE 22 July 2023 12:03 AM

So I purchased yours from Brighton, to myself in South West, went up to Manchester then to Oxford now to you on East Coast?

My black one came from Tenby to me again in South West!

and I know of maybe 7 in the UK but could be less! There is a facebook page for these GEX which you might find helpful which is basically all UK owners and then the guys in NZ which have Gravels coming out their ears!!

joey_turbo 26 July 2023 03:44 PM

These look great.

What actually goes in the actual spare wheel well, if they have one on the boot?

JoshwrxGE 27 July 2023 08:08 AM

Nothing in my 2 ownerships, spare wheel is in the holder and wheel well is empty! Iv had 2 of these so hoping thats correct and not missing anything from the car haha
