What tweaking options are there for a UK spec Forester?

As per the thread title really.

I want a speedy load carrier with decent ground clearance and the Forester seems like it might fit the bill but I'd like to know what options there are for improving the performance.

I'd rather go down the manufacturer's approved route for warranty reasons but I'm prepared to consider anything.

Cheers

What sort of performance were you looking for?

And how much were you wanting to spend?

Hi mate

Something along the lines of my old MY00 Impreza.

If you buy the 03 model xt and the prodrive performance package fitted (under warranty)
you have a 6.6 secs of 0-60 mph

If you go for the new 2.5 XT the 0-60 time is 6 seconds with a top speed of 145 ish mph.

Thanks for that.

What if I picked up an earlier Forester - say MY01? Is the PPP for the Forester about the same price as the Impreza?

I think it is about £1600.

If you want the performance of your old Impreza then you'll have to start with a JDM version and mod it as per an Impreza. The higher weight and brick shape will need IRO 250 lbft to compete up to 80 mph but after that it's all over.

The UK Forester version, even with PPP, will never get to Impreza levels of performance with the tiddly turbo they have.
