mpg shock horror lol
Ive just driven to bridlington and back and managed a whopping (imo) 28.8mpg!!!! lol
:D |
D-
Must try harder. :D |
What on a Yamaha pw50!!!!!
|
You must be doing something wrong, 28mpg  where is the fun in that :D:D
|
just filled mine 24.5mpg
Thats brilliant with the gearing, normally cant get above 20mpg. Must be the remap :D. |
I was expecting it to be alot lower actually, although most of it was at constant speeds, emphasis on the speed ;)
:D |
You've just reminded me how dreadful the Impreza mpg is. Even allowing for the excellent performance its pretty poor. That's the trade off though for a good 4x4 system.
Just sold my 220bhp 4x4 with Haldex 4wd and Averaged 29.5mpg over 2 years. It was 25% more economical overall than my last Impreza was with similar power. The 4x4 system was better in the Impreza but 95% of the time it didn't matter. That's the trade off you make. |
Just got 29 mpg out of mine,
oh and thats from 11 gals too Mart |
Just got 29 mpg out of mine but had to drive like a complete wuss to get 110 miles out of the last third of a tank. ( just wanted to see if it would do 300 miles on a tank). :cuckoo: Managed 327 in total and thel ight came on 10 miles from the shell garage.
Not doing it again, i`m going back to 250 miles a tank. |
29 mpg !!!!!!!
I've managed a wopping 13.7 mpg this week and i've only been to work and back 6 times. :D DP |
How on earth do you get over 20mph even on the motorway ? I've nevwer got more than 240miles out of a tank even driving off boost the whole journey ?

I was driving on A roads btw with 11ltrs.
|
Rubbish! I done 382miles in a MY03 WRX using Optimax and there was probably another 30 left in the reserve!
|
Recently developed a gearbox whine whilst working in Belgium. Nursed the car back to Calais, averaging probably 65mph - just over 32 mpg!!
MY00 de-cat Tek 2.5 + a dawes set at 1.25 bar I claim 40p per mile expenses and for once I was making good money from driving :D:D |

:D Just notioced the bit under your SN name 'Shell Garage, York' :D |
Yeah - my MY03 will hit 300+ to £40 quid easily. Seem to be more economical than previous versions, which is only a bonus really,
Brian :norty: |
I drove from Aberdeen to Edinburgh on a space saver, never going faster than 55mph and I got around 350 miles out of that tank of fuel :) Usual milage was 250 or so.
That was on my old uk turbo, my sti8 has never seen more than 220 from a tank, usually around 180-190, unless it's on a track where I got under 100 miles from a tankfull :) |
getting an average of 36.5 out of mine at the minute. my 96 wrx.
jamo :) |
Wow!
How much of the rev range do you guys use when driving like this? Up to 4k rpm or below 2.5k? |
Well mine was on a Motorway journey to Bournemouth from Essex and managed to get 382miles without the reserve light coming on!!
I just feathered the throttle when when building up speeds and kept my distance so i didn't use the brakes at all but I would say I kept it mostly between 2.4 & 3.0.. |
Managed about 9-10mpg at Donnington Park yesterday. Right laugh until they charged 97p (+ charge if not paying by cash) when it was time to refill.
|
I never went above say 2k on the space saver trip.
|
I managed 31 mpg on a drive on the motorway from Chesterfield to Glastonbury in Somerset, mainly motorway driving at a "steady" 65-70 mph and a light foot, MY04 STI :)
It was boring though :( |
