How is that nob still at number one with that repetitive crap? There must be some easily pleased, semi-deaf consumers out there.

davegtt 29 October 2004 08:00 PM

scoob_babe 29 October 2004 08:03 PM

I bet you call it the hit parade ;)

davegtt 29 October 2004 08:32 PM

busted = annoying the 1 reason I put up with them and dont slag them off though is cause its one of the few "bands" nowadays that actually play musical instruments....

I'm an easily pleased half deaf customer - but not half blind.

The video still doesn't bore me - the song bores me on the radio though.

gljam 29 October 2004 09:22 PM

Yeah but the instructor used to be a bloke and i have my doubts about some of the others as well

unclebuck 29 October 2004 10:01 PM

Eric Pridz - pure class!! That's why...

Top tune and top vid. Shows all the other chart crap up for what it is.

UB :thumb:

scoobypreza 29 October 2004 10:10 PM

That reminds me of Peter Kay... The bit where he's on about recording the top 40 on to tape and you try and stop the tape before the dj talks!

I used to do that! lol :D

Kids don't do that any more do they??

I haven't listened to the top 40 for ages.

cath

jpmason33 29 October 2004 10:20 PM

you have to give the guy in the video serious respect for not being "distracted"

gljam 29 October 2004 10:38 PM

 if only you all knew....

Wouldn't be anything to do with the vid, would it?

alcazar 30 October 2004 09:09 AM

'Cos it's catchy, and simple.

"These words" needs to be up there too, as does "Dry your eyes mate",:D:

second the thumbs up for outkast!

Andres latest release with Kelis - Millionaire is the best thing i've heard in ages! love it! bit of a uk DnB feel to it aswell!

the chart is a joke now. 25,000 sales can get you a number one!

think people are getting bored with the manufactured sh1te like busted, gareth gates etc..

loads of respect for Kelis, Outkast, Missy, The Streets and a few others.

all mainstream now but still not afraid to try something a little different.

BTW you'll probaly only 'get' Call On Me if you still go clubbing, its all about the build up to the big beat and bass line.

Sure I understand that, but how come what's essentially a niche record, ie. only appeals to clubbers, can manage not only to get to number one, but stay there, go to number 2 then go back there and stay there again! I'm just saying how does a song that's not particularly good, and certainly offers nothing original, manage to outsell virtually everything for over a month except one week when Robbie Williams scraped a number one with his own dross?

Is it because it's not an 'album track'? Although I don't know that for sure, is it not available on an album therefore pushing the singles sales?

Tiggs 30 October 2004 05:32 PM

eric is number 1 because of the video...even my dog saw that chart position coming....and as for Busted....whats wrong with them? they are a band of young kids....for young kids. My kids love them so it seems they are doing something right.

This site has the weirdest mix of chav cap wearing spoiler lovers that hate anything young and new! Its like Grandads in Burberry!

gljam 30 October 2004 05:38 PM

Ok i may be wrong but this looks remarkably like an Adams Apple and i have yet to see a woman with one of those
