Would blackjaxx have stopped this?

Yes because Blackjaxx activates when the car door is opened. The robbers will have had 20 seconds to figure out a.) where the Blackjaxx control panel is, and b.) what the code is before it kills the ECU

[edit] It wouldn't have stopped him being beaten up though

New_scooby_04 26 October 2004 02:43 PM

Well, the point of Blackjax is that you don't offer any resistance whatsoever, just surrender your keys and let the Scum drive off- so in theory the offenders should have no cause to resort to violence. It only activates when the car is driven a short distance away. This gives the victim a chance to peg it to a safe location. Once it immobilises the engine, it's game over for the theives as no-one in their right mind would fiddle around in the middle of the road looking for a security system with the alarm blazing.

I'm defo getting one for mine!

Best.

sillysi 26 October 2004 03:06 PM

I've set mine off a few times and it has stopped the car in the road and no one has ever been bothered to ask me what I am doing. It easier to drive/walk by than challenge someone.

Get a 24 hour traker then u might catch the fookers that stole it as well as get ur car back. if anyones in the Berks area wants a number of a reliable fella i know that fits them cheap then let me know..also its better then putting ur car in to have one fitted as theres only one person who knows where it has been installed... i know what goes on in garages and such..

You've been saying that for months! ;)

whats the best price anyone has got for blackjaxx? Im seriously thinking of getting it fitted (even if i own a bugeye)!

chris's scooby 26 October 2004 08:27 PM

Motorpoint in Birmingham had a group buy on here a while back for £125 i think. The normal price at a Clifford dealer is around the £200 mark.

Chris,

>I'm defo getting one for mine!

Tell me about it mate! :-) Always something comes along which detracts from my funds! No more hesitation though. Gonna phone Huets tomorrow. :-)

Hope yours is going well though mate, and that you never need to rely on it!

Best

The Police caught them anyway, thankfully.
Was the owner from here?

The carjackers are believed to have escaped in a dark-coloured Ford Focus in the direction of Smethwick.
Smethwick!

What a surprise

MJW 28 October 2004 12:15 PM

Stuff Blackjaxx, I think we all need one of these apiece :

http://www.waffenhq.de/infanterie/glock17-01.jpg

Should keep us out of danger, with sixteen in the clip and one in the chamber ! :D

Tim W 28 October 2004 12:17 PM

The car being used for stealing cigarettes is very similar to what happened a few years ago when a gang nicked an RB5 at a Donington trackday...it was later recovered in Birmingham with a boot full of cigies...IIRC the morons who nicked tried to steal it back from the Police compound and were caught red handed with the keys to the car...and then to top that off while they were on bail awaiting trial for stealing the car and the smash'n grabs they did over Ralliart, clocking a guard over the head in the process and using one of the 6 EVOs they tried to nick to break their way out...all on CCTV

I wonder if they're out now...

well said sillysi :)........although if it was a scoob I might just ask politely :)

New_scooby_04 28 October 2004 12:22 PM

Good god, that's awful. I'm glad the chap is going to be ok. Shooting another human being is bad enough for any reason, but for property?!?!?! WTF?

Best not to resist if you've got one of these fitted. Let the scum think they've got a easy ride and get them away from you as quick as possible. They won't get far and your car will be fine.

New_scooby_04 28 October 2004 12:27 PM

Sillsi, its not a questiion of them being challenged mate, it's the fact that you can't help but notice a car that's stuck in the middle of a road causing an obstruction esp with the alam going off, it attracts the attention of witnesses and the longer the scum hangs around trying to fiddle with the car, the more witnesses will see them.

Of course, how many of them would come forward is another matter, but the Scum

doesn't know the answer to that either. :-)

MJW LOL lock and load! ;-)
