PPP fitting instructions
 

hi new to forum.
does anyone know where i can get fitting instructions for a prodrive performance pack ecu upgrade for an 02 onwards impreza??

id be grateful if anyone could tell me

Not seen any online. Surely the dealer or Prodrive could help.

If not, the ECU is just a swap over - remove the ECU kick plate in the passenger footwell - usually 10mm socket will do, same usually for the ECU itself. Most suggest disconnecting the battery, but I've never lost one or damaged anything not doing. The only other thing to check is if your particular PPP has a new smaller diameter "olive" or restrictor that goes in the pneumatic pipe off the compressor outlet before the T-piece that splits the feed off to the solenoid and to the actuator - the early new age PPPs were like this, the later ones reflashed the ECU and did not need the new restrictor to my knowledge.

Exhaust bits just fit on in place of the originals if you have them.

I believe a check has to be made to ensure the ECU is aware of 0% and 100% throttle opening? Otherwise there is a possibility of the wrong part of the map being read at a given throttle opening. Correct me if I'm wrong!

Not that I'm aware of John, the open and closed throttle voltages have a wide spec range in the service manual, the only issue I've had with mine is it cutting off the injectors on light cruise on the 2.5 running on the 2.0 ECU because the vac was quite strong even when cruising at 30-40mph, adjusting the closed throttle to higher voltage helped it out a bit. I'm not aware of any adjustment you can make with say a select monitor other than using it to measure TPS voltages/position.

yep you do have to check the throttle opening and i've had a few now that only read 98% fully open. usually though it's down to the throttle cable just adjust it and it's ok but you can reset it it is possible
