What does the change in SVA rules mean?

How does the change in the rules affect imports now. Could anyone give me an example of the costs and paperwork involved with a 99 STi and a 02 STi. I understand that any cars registered after 1997 require an 'ESVA'?

Thanks for the help!

the rules are they can change the rules when ever they feel like it, and do all the time.

the latest thing is the car must have a vehicle report, they cost around £2000 to have done so i am told.

you can hire them from some one that has one.

not every model is covered at the moment.

that was last week anyway, this week it may have changed again!

Thanks for the info, I thought that might be the case! Any ideas where I could get a model report for a 2002 Blobeye STi, it arrives next month but I need a bodyshell to repair it first, so no rush to register it yet.

If anyone has experience of the doing one recently please let me know.

Cheers
