Do all type Rs have EGT's

Was gonna change the exhaust on a customers car and found it had an EGT on the downpipe towards the end (well it looked like an EGT probe anyway)

So as per title do all type R's have em or is this just cause its a jap spec one or is it because its not running a std ECU

Oh and No it was not a lambda sensor as it was way to small only about 8mm in dia if that

Cheers for your help
Gossy

As far as I know, they were only on the version 1 and 2 imports. I also have one on my WRX RA

Isn't that the cat on fire warning probe? there was one on my MY97WRX till I changed the downpipe and left it off.

Hi Gossy,

I checked too - here is tweenierob's response to my post:

'IT is a Cat on Fire sensor, it illuminates the COF light on your dash if the obvious happens. If you have a Decatted DP, no need for a Cat on fire sensor

Rob

p.s. it is also one of very few sensors on the car that doesnt give you a CEL if you unplug it. '

seems like it can be junked...

Yep Junk it mate, usually just tie the old connector up by the brake master cylinder.
