question about the sti 4 type r engines

i am looking through my car and have a few questions.

1. whats is the turbos name in the sti 4 type r 1998.

2.anyone got a picture of the oil filter housing/location. i am not sure if it is the standard one.

1. Off the top of my head, its possably a VF23, you should be able to see if you look around the turbo itself (it is normally stamped on there).

2. Sorry, havnt got one :(

What? the turbo?
Like i said, off the top of my head i think its a vf23, it could be a vf28, if its not a vf series turbo then it probably will be after market.
Do you know what turbo is on there now??

i was talking about the oil cooler and my bro looked at the turbo and he said it was ihi something gonna look closer today.

The oil cooler was only standard in the type RA cars AFAIK, it is mounted (when looking from the front of the car) down by the lower left hand side of the radiator. STi did do one as an option i believe though.

they ahve this small pipe that goes into it its very small around the width of a small pencil and well i need a new one as its broken anyone know where i can get one. or what it is called.

your right in saying that the V4 Type R has a VF23 the VF28 was from the V6 Type R it should say IHI at the begining of the lettering on the turbo.
I think an actual oil cooler has a seperate radiator as well usually near the front of the car ( If it has had one fitted ). They werent standard items on the Type R's
Not sure where the oil filter is though. Phone Scoobyclinic and ask them
