i know someone who has mapped a 01 reg impreza and they are 380cc injectors  but for your sake i hope they are 440cc as its gonna kill you if they aint that :( and you have got no time to change

Neil,
They are definately blue. As to flow - I never get a straight answer either, so I'm playing safe with STi ones. The flow is dependant on the pressure sustain valve setting- it could be that the newage has a higher pressure than the classics to give the 440cc. Perhaps the STi sustain valve pressure is higher than the WRX and could be a cheap mod with a new pump? Pavlo may be worth while contacting as he has shed some light recently on injector fuel rates. 380cc...unfortunately!

Neil,
Got my injectors of SN for £225 brand new. I saw a reply by Pavlo on http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=350459 about how the STi injectors are 505cc at 3 bar but are 565cc at the working 3.5 bar pressure. Makes me wonder if people are quoting flow at different pressures for the 380/440cc. Is there anyone who can confirm the flow and working pressure of the newage blue injectors? Pavlos answer made me wonder if the STi sustain valve pressure is higher than the WRX and could be used as a cheap mod to get beyond 440cc at 3.5 bar? Nick |
well 3.5bar would suggest a flow of 440cc, i have the uprated pump to do it....so just bolt on the reg and we should be ok.
Until i pay this lot off and get some 720s ;) |

ive just been and bought some new sti ones....might as well get it done right, thankfully the guys at xtreme will fit them for me on monday morning before the mapping :)
oh well.....this had better be worth it!!!! ;) |
As nick hinted - I believe the body of the injectors etc is the same between the WRX, STis etc. The flow is limited by the caps on the top of the injector with the small holes to achieve a certain dispersion pattern. Several guys in the states have cut the end cap off their injectors (effectively use a very accurate dremel or similar through the micro-weld), and got significantly better flow than STi injectors achieve, with seemingly good results.

Mark Aigin (lateral performance) sorted my STi pink Injectors (as well as the fuel pump and reg). They arrived on the dot but seem to remember £425 as the price I paid......... It's OK getting them cheap but when you are booked in for a re-map with Bob Rawle you need them in the car and not on a shelf in Milwalke !!! Midlife..... |
