Help, rubber smell...
 

Hi all,

Lately I have been getting a hot rubber smell from the engine bay, usually from the left side when looking at the engine. On closer inspection, there might be something leaking very slowly onto the up pipe, as the shielding has a shiny appearance to it. I have checked all the fluid levels.....ok.
Do any of the fluids used in an impreza get a hot rubber smell when on a hot surface ? If not then I will have to start looking elsewhere......................a bit concerned.
