going nowhere fast
I have a std MY95 turbo which has just started to slip on boost ie 3000-3500 then it is ok. I phoned my local Subaru dealer Donalds , Peterboro and was quoted .... £1200 !!! This can't be right??? does anyone know the price of a stock clutch (£200-250 i guessed) and the book time (ie not the actual time) to change one? What's involved. I wouldn't have thought there was much more to it than a rear wheel drive car and would have thought £500 more realistic
Any help appreciated as soon I will be literally , going nowhere fast! Exedy units seem a good alternative but have read on the forum about the need to skim/change the flywheel. My car has just over 91k , but fSsh joolz |

Don't bother with Donald's mate, try Specialist Car Sevices at Werrington. Not used them myself for years but the guys there know what they are doing and have a good rep.

hi
just finishing this thread with a positive result . Bought my exedy clutch privately and had it fitted by A1 gearboxes in St Neots , Cambs - top quality job and they can get your flywheel skimmed too. All in cost including skimming , new 'box oil and crankshaft bearing , it cost me alot less than £500 all in... my scoob feels like new:luxhello: :luxhello: :luxhello: |
