Pad Upgrade, Pagid, Prodrive, EBC?

So I've read the threads recently about the EBC ceramics, but I'd like to have a better pedal feel, initial bite and power from my standard setup - At Nurburgring after 2 laps they were smoking a bit - :norty:

I've a MY04 WRX PPP, with an annual trip to the ring and 1 Bedford A/Drome each year.

Pads, do I upgrade to the Prodrive or Pagid RS4.2.1 as recommended by the dealer or are the Ferodo 2500s or EBC Red stuff Ceramics better all round?

I'm also probably going to get braided hoses and 5.1 Brake fluid

Cheers
Nige

If you are doing track stuff I would reccomend Pagid RS 4-2 "blue" pads. They are good from cold and get better the hotter they are. We used them on my mates STi 6 rally car on the Isle of Man earlier this year and he never lost the pedal once. Braided hoses and uprated fluid are essential for brakes that are gonna be worked hard.

I've just fitted a set of Pagid RS 8-9's to my P1 with the Alcon big brake upgrade. These were chosen by necessity as the only ones available rather than by choice.

But I'm overwhelmed by their performance. The RS8-9 are Pagid Yellow pads (Yellow pads are for endurance racing) but they work very well (better once warmed up and amazing on track recently).

But the best thing I've noticed is that they don't give off much brake dust. I previously had Ferodo DS2500s fitted and the wheels were black a day after washing them - but these are 10x better.
