Cleaning dash so sticky pads will stick to it?
 

Hi folks,
Any cunning plans only i'm trying to secure some guages etc to my dash & the lill boogers wont stick & trying to read a boost guage etc when it's bouncing about aint so easy (well at least not when trying to keep focused on road too:eek: lol)
Can i just use a swissol kinda wax remover thing (presuming it's some silicon based cleaner someones used at some point?) or might that damage dash perchance, guess not as it's good stuff but just wanted to fish for ideas, cunning plans etc...?

Autogylm tar and bug remover. You could also try some 'trim tape' from Halfrauds, very sticky indeed :D

Yeah the Halfords Adhesive number plate pads work ok.

I got the 1mm strips for the turbo timer etc-really sticky double sided pads. Plus you get a nice wipe to prepare the area that worked a treat.

£1.19 I think they are.

Another good tip is to warm the area they will stick to, the base of the gauge holder and the sticky pad itself once it's on the gauge holder, before pressing into place.

A hairdyer, or heat gun (BE CAREFUL IF YOU USE A HEAT GUN!!!), will do the job.

cheers for that was planning on getting some more no plate ones as they are super sticky had forgot they came with nice cleaner stuff....
Dont wana heat em at all as dunno how the defi HUD's might or might not klike that.....:D
