How's that for a slice of fried gold?

Well, North America finally decided to screen Shaun of the Dead, bit bloody late I know, but hey, better late than never.

Popped along to watch it last night and must say I did throughly enjoy myself. I did notice myself laughing at various things that were quentisentially british and thus most of the audience did not "get" them.

A bit slow in places, but overall, a damn fine flick. The beating of the landlord to "Don't Stop Me Now" was classic, as was the ending.

I want to see that, worth getting on DVD?

Has to be said that Pegg has a zombie fixation. They seemed to pop up frequently in spaced!

i just watched it saturady funny enough. i thought it was very good. probaly 4 out of 5. thought the start was a bit slow but soon got going. very gross in parts (as you'd expect from a zombie film) but found myself laughing as opposed to puking (which is a good thing!). watched it with my ex actually who didnt like the gory bits but found it very funny.

the bit with the queen song was superb, laughed through the whole song!

i'd say it was worth buying if you like comedys and dont mind a bit (well, alot) of violence.

would be interested to know what the yanks thought of it???

Certainly worth renting on DVD. I'll be getting a copy when it eventually comes on on R1, which will be when flesh eating zombies take over the world! :D

Can't comment about yanks, but the Canadians seemed to like it, plus they get "our" humor (they understand irony, most americans do not) so that helps.

rented it a few weeks back and thought it was cracking, expected it to be rather dull but was suprised to find myself laughing, much better than dawn of the dead :)
