Join Date: Jan 1970
Why do some members have this above join date and others not?

It's a bug in the software.

Ah, cheers I was beginning to think 50% of the folk on here would be drawing their pension soon.

People who registered on the "old" BBS didn't have their join date stored, so when the BBS was replaced with Vbulletin it defaulted to 1970.
Although, people who registered on the "really really old" BBS still had their join date stored :) |

One of the things that was gonna be done when the new software was put on, was to run a script to set blank join dates to date of first post, which seems reasonable. This seems to have fallen by the wayside tho :( :(
