OVERTAKING ANOTHER SCOOBY

Total novice here. Bought my first ever Scooby (WRX STI) yesterday. Can anyone tell me the what the form is regarding overtaking another Scooby? Was in the situation where there was a Scooby in front of me on a dual carriage way today that was moving on fairly nicely but could perhaps have gone a little faster but I just held back out of respect. Just asking so that I "play by the rules".

SC008Y_MAD 22 September 2004 09:52 PM

I believe that it is alright to pass a slower moving scooby. but you should'nt really as the slower Impreza is probably in the fast lane anyway do the max limit of that road ie motorway 70mph or dual carriageway 60mph, so if you are going faster than him, which i hope not, then i see not reason to overtake him as you would be breaking the speed limit - not good

I'd regard it as bad form to hold up another scooby that wants to come past - there's no shame in being overtaken. Provided you don't tailgate the other car and try to force the driver to move over, then go for it.

The secret sign is to flash 6 times very quickly and dive left then right, passing very close while hooting your horn.
I'm sure you'll get the special sign back ;)

I take it you mean on a duel carriageway without a central reservation then? ;)
70mph with a central reservation.
But getting back down to the subject, indicate, and overtake ;)

<------------Pull a face like this as you go past!

Just 'nudge' him off the road, then when he/she wants your insurance details tell to 'em to fook right off as it was a 'racing incident'. They are rally cars after all ;)

Theres mowt wrong with overtaking or being overtaken :) wellcome anyhow...

Speedmeister 22 September 2004 10:28 PM

If you don't overtake how can you possibly prove that your Scoob's actually much faster than all the others?!!!!

Wonder Wagon 22 September 2004 10:50 PM

The scoob in front looks for some where to pullover (i.e. a lay-by)

From where you have a chat for half an hour

:D :D

PS if you see two scoob’s in a lay-by you have to stop to join in okay :thumb:

Unless he in in an RA (low gearing) like me and lives near the motorway :P

In which case engine cold and will be doing 55mph with the trucks going past :D

I will still wave though!

the correct method is to nail yourself to his rear bumper,

whilst applying full beam,

this has the following effect, it will either seal the micron thin paint to the bumper or remove it , which i believe is the norm....

the heat generated will cause the driver to go into cool down mode, upon where

he will find some twisties , which generate masses of air to cool the scoob,

and as you know you will always have em on the twisties

I am sure there something about "mirror" in there also? Or was it all a dream?

Soulgirl 22 September 2004 11:06 PM

LOL .. you lot get sillier from post 2 onwards!

If you can overtake then do so, irrespective of who is in front.

We're not talking about BMW drivers here;):)

Scrappydoo2003 22 September 2004 11:16 PM

Can't say this has ever worried me...take and be taken.. such is life!

vindaloo 23 September 2004 12:03 AM

It's a turbo car! You are on boost, they are off boost (probably). So zoom past but try to wave.

Is there an etiquette thread anywhere on Scoobynet?

BuRR 23 September 2004 09:00 AM

I can't believe this is being discussed! pmsl

Just do what you would do with any other car!

Graz 23 September 2004 09:09 AM

You must NEVER overtake another scooby, especially if it's me :p

Superloop 23 September 2004 01:00 PM

If your running in like me :( and an EVO is RIGHT up your arse you have to pull over and let em go by. Grinning like they just beat me the bas**rds.

Del mar 23 September 2004 01:10 PM

I have never been acknowledged by another when I roar past !!

EvilKyote 23 September 2004 01:12 PM

As you pass you shoudl pull in front of them, stick your ass out the window and fart at them! :D

The sudden intake of methane gas into the air intake system of there scoob should then increase the power for a few seconds just enough to give them hope that they might keep up with you :D:D

RB5_245 23 September 2004 01:50 PM

1, pull along side
2, perform the scooby wave
3, if they wave back pull into a layby and chat until you're cold and hungry
4, race like you have no regard for life until one of you pulls off at a junction
5, one final wave
6, explain to the boss why you're 5 hours late for work

I think that's the rules is it not :D

pnbond007 23 September 2004 07:10 PM

Just Impress the hell out of the other driver by passing them with a four wheel drift around an Island.

Otherwise don your flat cap, put your cushions on your parcel shelf & stay behind....

 Had one overtake me on the way to work this evening....Im doing 25mph as I was driving in town, spot another scoob in the rear view mirror 2 cars back, next thing i know hes blasting past us at 50-60mph, on the wrong side of the road in a built up area!! Fecking plick

P20SPD 23 September 2004 08:49 PM

As Burr says, treat it like any other car, drop a gear and f'ing nail it.

I ve had a couple round here that wouldnt move over, scoobs that is, and have braked, then they have dropped a gear and booted it. Any car that does that to any driver is bang out of order, and receive necessary ebarrassment. Scoob drivers receive the same treatment.

I drop a gear, floor it, and if they aint moving, then i will undertake them, simple as that. Bad form i know, but if they want to drive like a tit and hog the road, then i will use the other part of tarmac i pay my RFL for.

P20SPD 23 September 2004 08:50 PM

BTW i am refering to 70 limits above, nowhere else.

harry_p1 23 September 2004 09:16 PM

Go bumper to bumper if they dont move just overtake :norty: they'll understand
