Thought it might be interesting to see what you all owned/drove before you upgraded (?) to a subaru.

M reg Ford Capri 2.0GT (Not bad for a 1st car,no insurance woes then!!!!) p ford capri 3.0GHIA auto (still only 18 & driving a 3 litre, bloody hell) S ford capri 3.0S (mashed into a tree at 50 after aquaplaning down a hill- ouch!) V triumph dolomite 1850HL (surprisingly fast but wot was i thinking) W triumph dolomite 1850HL (awful purple barge which was soooo slow) S fiesta 1.3S (starsky & hutch stripes, XR2 lookalike! had discovered max power by now!) A mitsubishi mirage 1.4 turbo (turbo blew,pistons melted,then uninsured taxi wrote it off) D renault 5GT turbo (chipped - fast fast fast,unreliable,unreliable;Windows stick down in a carwash!!) H renault 5GT turbo (1st new car. insurance £500 in 1991 went up to £2000 in 1992=SOLD) E renault 5GT turbo (165bhp flying machine but cost £500 everytime i went past the dealers) A opel monza 3.0GSE (bigger than a bus) V mazda RX7 (bl**dy fast with unspecified mods. Rusted faster than an 80s ford) A capri 2.8i special (not very special, awful underpowered heap) A sierra XR4i (glorious mile eater,total opposite of previous capri with same 2.8!!) G nissan 200SX (teriffic genuine 140mph car, never a problem until i found it was clocked!) G sapphire cosworth 2WD (christ) K sapphire cosworth 4X4 (300BHP christ on a bike) W scooby (christ on a better bike) Jesus,how many?!? the top 5 tho would have to be: 1 SCOOB 2 SAPH 4X4 3 SAPH 2WD 4 200SX 5 XR4i Anyone else want to add their list? People seem to say scoobys are the best, but what else have they owned. Lets see! In reverse order: '86 Polo - knackered and old '94 Uno - not so old '94 Tipo - wot can i say '94 Mondeo - here we go, a ford! '95 Rover 220 coupe turbo - totally standard '96 Golf TDI (brand new) - sensible head on, still got it with 121,000 miles on '94 Calibra Turbo 4x4 - needed the speed back again. souped up with 260bhp '93 Escort cossie - first look at a real car, souped up to 330bhp '90 Escort RST - must of been on drugs, 185bhp! Hmm. Ran bikes for a few years along with a shot out Mazda 323, then bought a Puma 1.7 when they came out in 97, then upgraded to an R-plate Integra Type R (great, great car) and then a T-plate Impreza Turbo last year.
And I have to say, I'd have another Honda in a minute, because they're cracking fun to drive. Even more fun (sssh!) than a Scooby, because you have to concentrate more. |
