Changes to US Visa Waiver Scheme
Hi all,
I'm heading across to the US at the end of October as an exhibitor at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. I've never had any problems entering US with the pink waiver form issued on the flight (I hold a UK passport). I've just heard that there are changes in what passports will be accepted under this scheme (ie must contain digital information about face shape) which will mean standard UK/EU passports won't be suitable. Can anyone confirm/deny these reports? It's not cheap exhibiting at this show and would actually prefer to be present! cheers Ian |
As long you have a machine readable passport and have filled out a green immigration form for the visa waiver program you will be fine. You also need to provide advance passenger information for your flight, but that should be handled when booking your air tickets.
Full information on the Visa Waiver chnages can be found here: BA US Visa Info Hope this helps, tiggers. |
When this was first announced a few months ago, the requirement for digital information (face/fingerprint) only applied to passports issued after Sept 04 (about now). Old passports which are still in date and valid will be fine. Because of problems issuing the new format, I think US have extended the change over date.
