BHP increase How much insurance increase?

Is it possible to estimate how much various mods will load your insurance?

I have a JDM MY95 WRX and am considering the following mods, but not sure yet how deep my pockets are

BHP increase to about 320ish BHP may be more
Bigger disc brakes
Stiffened suspension
FMIC etc
New ECU

I have spoken to a couple on insurance companies and the general rule seems to be a 50% increase. Is this about right or is it a I don't know get off the phone?

Any helpful comments greatly appreciated

When I phoned Admiral, they spoke in terms of "not more than a 25% Bhp increase" but were fusssy about how it was acheived. For example, they didn't mind exhaust and engine management chip mods, but would not allow replacing the intercooler piping! That's the PPP out then! :-) Thus it's important that you check that a planned mod is ok both in terms of what is acheived with respect to power increases AND the way it has been acheived.

Best and good luck.

Tesco's I think calculate the premium increase on the percentage increase in BHP. As for exterior mods i'm not too sure.
