I wouldn't bother now if I was you. ;)

paulr 12 September 2004 10:44 PM

Sunday evening can be quite a lonely time if you're single i guess.
You always imagine everyone else is tucked up on the couch with their hubbys watching a film.

Manda_po 12 September 2004 10:46 PM

No, I'm on here and hubby is playing PS2. Very romantic.

Manda_po 12 September 2004 10:51 PM

Can you post it under an alias, so we don't know it's you. ;)

Madjay2 12 September 2004 10:53 PM

i think its just because everyone else around me is in a relationship ourelse just happy going mad at the weekends with whoever whenever, but i've never really been like that.

never been lucky in love(think thats a song) always been too nice and always become a friend, it sucks

Manda_po 12 September 2004 10:56 PM

So, not real depression then? Just feeling a bit sorry for yourself?

logiclee 12 September 2004 11:03 PM

Sounds more like a bad day than depression.

If you do a search there has actually been a few very constructive threads on depression and you will probably be suprised on how many members admit to have been depressed at some stage and the amount of people who have taken medication for depression. It's not something to be ashamed of anymore which is good.

Cheers

Manda_po 12 September 2004 11:39 PM

Doesn't bother me. :D

Alas 12 September 2004 11:44 PM

Admitting being on medication should not be a problem. Sounds trite but always someone worse off than yourself.
I take Pethidine tablets lets just say in large amounts prescribed by the doctor. Been on this for 5 years due to excruciating pain. If anyone has had renal cholic they'll know what I mean. Will be seeing the surgeon again this week to try something else to cure it.
Problem is the pain can be handled using the pills by myself but the effect on my personality has been drastic with those close to me feeling it the most. I am now withdrawn , moody, don't talk much and try not to socialise. Not much fun for my wife.

Point I'm trying to make without belittling anyones problems is that try to do the best with what you have. If you can't change it. It could be a lot worse.
Alas

paulr 13 September 2004 08:12 PM

Does medication work though or is it better to try and "work" out the cause of depression?

yoza 13 September 2004 08:18 PM

S.A.D is on its way, I felt it @ 0520 this morning, now where is my St Johns Wort..

thetechnogeek 13 September 2004 08:47 PM

You need to be careful with that stuff, particularly if you take any regular medication. Not saying it doesn't work, but you do need to exercise caution- it interferes with the metabolism of "normal" meds and can result in OD.

Sound like a nagging granny, sorry

Depression is somtimes caused by a chemical imbalance in the brian. Medication is sometimes the only way to breakout of depression.
