WRX03 speaker upgrades

Hello All,

I currently have an Apline 7893R MP3 headunit installed in my WRX03. I think I'd be right in assuming the stereo outdoes the speakers in the car because I'm used to the quality now and the clarity at high volume sounds naff.

Has anyone upgraded their WRX03 speaker system?

Can I get speakers to replace the OEM ones without making too much of a mess?

How easy is it to do?

Any recommendation on speakers etc?

Comments greatly appreciated!

Speakers

Hi
I could do with some new speakers too, if I could get the door pannel off I might know which ones would fit. Any ideas?

Halo!

Have replaced my speakers with alpine components all round
The front doors were replaced by 5.25" speakers and also used a speaker pocket so the electric windows will open fully(ask your local ice dealer they will supply what you need)

The rears were replaced with 4"alpine connponents(these just slotted straight in)

Regards mark

There is a guide to removing the door cards in the FAO section at the top of the ice forum

Straight in matey,no probs!

But as said you will need a speaker pocket for the fronts as the rear of the speaker sits too deep into the door so the electric window will not go down fully

OEM speakers are crap. Rear ones are there just to fill a hole in the door. They are totally useless and about as deep as a slice of bread......yes they are that bad!!
