Andy.F Question.

I can find an email address and his PM Box is full :(

Basically, I wanted to know if a TD05/6 20G will be OK for a 2.5 Engine in a STI 03 car?

With relevant TEK remap, of course.

If anyone knows him, can they pass on the question.

why wouldnt it be?

he isn't the only person likely to know.

try asking john banks or pat too.

that will be nice turbo for that car and mods :D

Andy is on holiday as of now... 3 weeks in the US.

However, as people have said he isnt the only person to know :)

sorry rob,

you could try asking rob too.

to my knowledge john banks runs a TD05 on his and it is very spritely from what I hear.
sine the 05/06 is a greater flowing unit, it will probably be well matched.

Trout has the same turbo on his 2.33 that I have on my 2.5 and his absolutely flies. The GT35 is a far bigger turbo than the td05/06 but mine still managed to pull 488lnft at 3100 rpm (albeit on the dyno which builds boost as if drivign with the brakes on).

I don't think you need have any concerns.

Adam, Trout doesnt have the same turbo as you.

His is smaller.

TD05/06-20G will be fine on you 2.5L engine. Now it also depends on the boost you would like to run with. Maximum should be 1.8 bar in the mid range, and no more than 1.45 bar at 7000RPM...which I guess is more than what a 2.5L USDM block can handle ;-)

john banks 10 September 2004 04:44 PM

There was no surge on the 20G with the 2.5 which was nice. 1 bar at 2500 without using the brakes. Boost creep to 1.2 bar at the top even with fully ported wastegate, but most want to run this anyway, but you'll need a good fuel system.

thats good enough for me.

Spent £1000 today on a car I hevent bought yet!

Did I mention it makes an astonishingly fun combination with a 2.5 to drive :D

So much so that I'm getting Andy to do one for our Legacy 2.5 to go M3/Porker bashing :D I like M3s and Porks BTW :) But it would be hilarious to pass them in a Legacy.

No,
But it makes me feel better. :)

I have the 2.5 bottom end and gaskets, a 20G turbo and tubular header, so far.

The only other thing I think I need to hve ready (above standard 2.0 mods) is a bigger set of injectors, pump and regulator.

What injectors are you running Jon?
