I havent seen any independent tests on the LT400 that they want to send me as a replacement for my slightly faulty LRC100. Not sure whether to send it off or not. Anybody have any test results??

A GB I did on here on the LRC100s a few months ago was @ £200

Bob

jaycee 06 September 2004 06:12 PM

Bob, I don't think any have been done yet.
If they're offering to change it FOC for you I would take them up on it.

I was talking to the guy who does the jammer test a couple of weeks ago and told him about Target who were going to send me the LT-400 to replace the LRC-100 and he said they were the dogs bo**ocks, much better than the LRC-100 (he's had been testing one as he is in the industry)

Because I dont know whether the replacement is any good. I know the LRC100 is effective once successfully powered up. Has saved me on more than one occassion. Replacements aren't always better. Any links to independent tests?

They are not making the LRC-100 anymore so if yours is faulty then they are gonna replace it with the LRT-400.

Indeed. But I dont have to send it back as its not faulty to the point where it wont work at all....just doesnt power up properly sometimes.

No independent tests from anywhere?

Bob

Mine failed in the test the other week, It gave the two beeps and flashes, but didnt do anything else.

The manufactures basically said they would test it and send me the 400 as a replacement. If they cant fix it, im gonna buy the other part for my garage door.
For me this was actually a good result!

automodellistagt 15 September 2004 05:15 PM

so is this the ultimate in protection against those damn laser sites that hide in bushes?

jaycee 15 September 2004 05:17 PM

Yup!! ;) :D

Dark Blue Mark 15 September 2004 10:41 PM

Depends which way the camera is pinting surely? The ones that point at the back of the car when you go past would be catching you...

I might be interested, I bought an LRC100 on a GB before on here think it ended up being £235 delivered.

Never actually got round to fitting it  so sold it today :D

Is the price for this newe version likely to get close to the GB for the 100 ?

jaycee 18 September 2004 04:59 PM

Not in the near future as it's such a new product.

Jason

tuscan57 20 September 2004 01:38 PM

has anyone actually said yes they want one yet????? well apart from me that was holding off to see if the price came down! :)

Dark Blue Mark 20 September 2004 01:53 PM

Id like it confirmed that a rear facing one will definately jam the portable camera beast?

A rear fitted one will jam a speed gun aimed at the back of your car.

Jason

Dark Blue Mark 20 September 2004 04:41 PM

But not a portable camera?

MB

Adam M 20 September 2004 05:01 PM

DBM,

the jammer will jam whatever is pointed at it.

The police have guidelines which are supposedly meant to tell them not top point cameras at the back of cars.

whether or not they pay attention to this I don't know. I do know that the fact that camera may or may not be portabloe has nothing to do with the jammers ability to jam it.

Portability just makes it easier for the police to hide, it doesn't change what the camera does.

And to my knowledge all laser guns are portable, its just that some are hand held and some are tripod mounted.

Dark Blue Mark 20 September 2004 05:10 PM

Adam, ta, I just didn't know whether the portable camera's used laser or radar or any other form of speed recognition. There are so many types now that I just wanted to be sure what type of camera's it would be jamming.

I guess if the beam spread of the jammer is reasonable, they would have to be aiming at an odd angle to get past the jammer...
