Wheel studs being replaced next week
After a bit of enthusiastic driving the scoob managed to shear two wheel studs off last weekend.
The 10 fronts are being replaced next week and I have asked if I can be present as the work takes place. Any ideas on how its done and what I should be watching for to make sure its done right???? 90NM is the torque setting and thats about where my knowledge gets to in this area. |
I did 2 of mine a few weeks ago - pretty easy even for a numptie like me.
Take Wheel off. Unbolt caliper & remove pull disc off hammer old stud out put new stud in and tap until in place replace disc & caliper & wheel. I buggered one stud up as I thought tightening the wheel nut would pull the new stud through to tighten it - WRONG! I lost the thread off both the nut and stud. |
