copying files older than x date and retain directory structure

Basically, we are doing a clear out of files at work.

We want to copy all files that are say pre 2000 into another folder, but retain the same directory structure.

Does anyone know any utils to do this, apart from xcopy? :)

I've always used 4NT (a replacement command prompt for NT/2K/XP/etc) for this. http://www.jpsoft.com/4ntdes.htm

With 4NT, you can do things like "copy *.* /[1/1/2000,1/1/1980] /s" to copy everything between 1980 and 2000.

Robocopy is what you need!! :) (Part of NT4 or W2k resource kits)
Has worked brilliantly for me in the past, copies security permissions plus a whole lot more (Including creating a logfile per directory move/copy) :)

Good luck

Nick
